My advanced Microneedling and Electroporation treatment illuminates and brightens your skin, and reduces the common signs of ageing.
Ultra fine needles penetrate the skin at different depths, creating micro-channels which stimulate a wound healing response leading to the production of new collagen and elastin.
Once the micro-channels have been created, the electroporation technology releases electro-stimulating pulses to increase the permeability of the skin cell membrane. This allows for increased absorption of serums applied to the skin, for hydrated, healthy skin.
Microneedling combined with electroporation significantly increases the amount of serum delivered within the skin compared with traditional Microneedling treatments.
During the treatment there is generally minimal discomfort. Topical anaesthetics are available if you have sensitive skin.

EPN Pen microneedling FAQs
-
Microneedling is a minimally invasive treatment used to target a variety of skin conditions on the face and body. Needles are used to penetrate the skin at a variety of depths to create a wound healing response. This in turn encourages the skin to produce new collagen and elastin to give patients younger-looking skin.
-
EPN is the abbreviation for ElectroPoration Needle. Electroporation is a technique in which an electrical field is applied to the skin’s cells in order to increase the permeability of the membranes, allowing topical products to be introduced into the cell more efficiently. Its application to the skin has been shown to significantly increase transdermal product delivery. Electroporation can be used alone or in combination with skin microneedling which enhances the range of products that can be delivered trans-dermally.
-
The EPN Pen combines electroporation and microneedling technology to provide maximum skin rejuvenating results, through the stimulation of the skin’s own wound healing process and the increased absorption of active ingredients.
-
Does microneedling hurt?
During a microneedling treatment, there is generally minimal discomfort to the client. The EPN Pen uses ultrafine needles, which provide more comfort than other devices. You should feel a warming sensation following treatment which will then subside over the course of a few hours. Topical anaesthetics can be used for clients with sensitive skin, should they wish to apply prior to the treatment this can be discussed when you have a consultation.
-
Some clients feel a difference in the elasticity of their skin in as little as 24 hours. However, the long-lasting results will be seen between 4-6 weeks post-treatment as this is the time frame in which it takes the body to produce new healthy collagen and elastin.
-
Immediately after treatment the skin can appear pink, slightly swollen and feel warm. The micro wounds caused from microneedling usually take up to 24 hours to heal. Post-treatment side effects should subside over the 2-4 days.
-
EPN Pen can be used to treat fine lines and wrinkles, acne and surgical scars, skin tone, the appearance of stretch marks, skin texture, skin laxity, adn to reduce open pores.
-
I recommend waiting 4 weeks after Botox or superficial hyaluronic acid injectable fillers such as Restylane before carrying out an EPN microneedling. I cannot carry out treatment over any injectable product that is considered to be semi-permanent or permanent, such as Radiesse and Sculptra. If you have had thread lifts, I advise to wait 6 months before carrying out EPN microneedling.
-
Unfortunately, EPN Pen microneedling cannot be used to treat melasma. Melasma is a pigmentary disorder that presents itself as symmetrical pigmented areas, commonly on the forehead, cheeks and upper lip. Any treatments that cause inflammation can potentially worsen this condition, so microneedling is not recommended.
-
You should wait at least 12 hours after EPN pen microneedling before you apply make-up.
-
There is virtually no downtime. You should feel a warming sensation following treatment which will then subside over the course of a few hours. A slight swelling and redness are present immediately post-treatment but should subside quickly.
-
Although I check people’s medical history and conditions carefully during our consultation before any treatments, generally EPN Pen is not suitable if:
You have melasma or patchy pigmentation
You have a tattoo in the area to be treated
You are in general poor health
You have cancer
You are pregnant
You have metal implants near the treatment area
You have a history of Bell’s Palsy, keloid scarring or an active coldsore
